Football legend Sir David Beckham has made history by being the first soccer player to earn a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He was honored with the 2,849th star, categorized under Sports Entertainment.
Beckham’s journey began with Manchester United and spanned illustrious teams like Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain. Additionally, he has represented the England National Team.
Outside of football, Beckham has thrived as a business owner, philanthropist, and co-owner of Inter Miami CF, significantly enhancing the sport’s visibility globally.
The event was hosted by Ellen K, with tributes from guest speakers including Victoria Beckham and Tom Cruise.
“I’m here today as we prepare to celebrate the opening, here in the US, of the 2026 World Cup. It’s a powerful moment to recognise how the sport I love so much has grown in this country over the past three decades. Kids – I’m going to get emotional now – Kids, I hope you bring my grandchildren here one day and tell them about a boy who dreamed big to make you all proud is my greatest achievement. I am so grateful for you all. I love you, and thank you so much for this honour, LA, it means the world to me. Thank you very much,” Beckham said.
