DJ Maphorisa has disclosed that a significant financial proposal to Samthing Soweto was hindered by a communication breakdown.
During his appearance on the Podcast and Chill with MacG show, the well-known music producer shared that he and Kabza De Small were keen to feature the artist in their landmark Scorpion Kings Live event at FNB Stadium.
Maphorisa mentioned that they intended to offer Samthing Soweto an eye-watering R500,000 for his performance.
Yet, the chance never came to fruition since the artist allegedly blocked them on all communication channels, preventing the Amapiano trailblazers from making their pitch.
This situation underscores the ongoing friction between the former collaborators.
Although the artists once dominated music charts with popular tracks such as “Akulaleki,” “Amantombazane,” and “AmaDM,” their professional connection has significantly declined in recent times.
Public disagreements related to music credits, ownership of masters, and financial settlements have created a substantial barrier between these stars.
Fans had been hopeful that the large-scale FNB Stadium concert might act as a platform for mending the longstanding discord.
Maphorisa’s recent remarks suggest that the rift remains considerable, indicating that a musical reconciliation is improbable in the foreseeable future.
Samthing Soweto has yet to publicly address Maphorisa’s assertions about the R500,000 offer.
Messages were directed to his team, but there has been no reply regarding the matter at hand.
