South African DJ and music producer Tenoceans has collaborated with fellow producers Kgzoo and Kay P on their new single Nala, which was released today, September 18, 2026, via Descendants Records.
This Afro House track brings together three artists known for their contributions to electronic music, crafting a piece designed for dance environments that incorporates Afro House, Afro Tech, and 3 Step influences. The joint effort was hinted at earlier in the month prior to its official launch on streaming platforms.
Before the debut, Descendants Records characterized Nala as “A crowd mover, a room shaker, ‘NALA’ by South African artists @tenoceans @kgzoo_ @im.kayp lands tomorrow [Friday, September 18]. Pre-Save Now 🤲🏾Afro House Afro Tech”, indicating a track for audiences attuned to deep grooves and expansive electronic sounds.
With a duration of 5 minutes and 48 seconds, Nala serves as a complete club track that allows the artists’ collaboration to develop. It is available on major digital platforms and is being promoted through various electronic music channels, including Spotify and Beatport. An audio stream has also been featured on Mr. Afro Deep’s YouTube channel.
For Tenoceans, this release coincides with a significant moment in her career. Based in Johannesburg, she has defined her sound by merging deep tech, melodic techno, progressive house, along with Afro Soul, Afro House, and tribal elements. Her recent debut at Ibiza’s Pacha, performing with Shimza, marks another highlight in her growing list of international appearances.
Kgzoo contributes his well-established production expertise, having created notable works such as Music Is Power, Inshonalanga, Ipilisi, and Baobab Stargate, fostering his reputation within South Africa’s electronic scene.
Kay P enhances the collaboration with his distinct approach to deeper underground rhythms. His engagement in Nala brings a meaningful layer to the composition, harmonizing the unique styles of the three producers while preserving the track’s dance-centric nature.
This release places Nala within the roster of Descendants Records, a label and event platform originating in New York, maintaining links to Johannesburg, London, Amsterdam, and Nairobi. The collaboration enriches each artist’s growing body of electronic work, as the single is suited for club appearances, festivals, and audiences discovering Afro-driven dance music both within South Africa and internationally.
With its substantial length and Afro House roots, Nala marks a fresh entry for Tenoceans, Kgzoo, and Kay P while opening a new chapter in their respective careers.
