Germany Edges Past Ghana in Tight Contest, D Real Combo Expresses Discontent

Germany Squeezes By Ghana as D Real Combo Voices Their Frustration

D Real Kombo has responded to Ghana’s recent close loss to Germany with his characteristic blend of candidness and humor, resonating well with football enthusiasts throughout Africa.

In a discussion on his YouTube channel following the match, he emphasized that despite Germany securing the victory, their performance did not instill confidence for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

The match concluded with Germany beating Ghana 2-1, thanks to a late goal from Deniz Undav after earlier strikes by Kai Havertz and an equalizer from Abdul Fatawu, in a contest that proved to be more competitive than anticipated.

In his analysis, D Real Kombo stated:

“There’s a reason why, when we are talking about the teams that are going to win the World Cup, there’s a reason why a lot of us don’t mention Germany. There’s a reason why we don’t mention them… Oh, Germany, you disappointed me. Yes, you won the game, but you disappointed me. This was not the result we were expecting. This was not the scoreline we were expecting.”

He then reflected on Ghana’s performance, recognizing that even though many anticipated a loss for the Black Stars, they demonstrated fighting spirit and gained respect. He pointed out:

“Ghana can’t feel like, say, if they go World Cup, you get one thing they can go do… They’re going to feel like, say, oh, if we can make Germany struggle against us, that means we can get something against Croatia or England.”

What made his commentary noteworthy was that he not only critiqued Germany but also acknowledged Ghana’s efforts positively. He expressed:

“At the end of the day, it was a decent game, right? Well done to Ghana. They played well. They played very, very well, right? Surprisingly very, very well. They gave Germany a run for their money… A draw would have been a perfect result for this game based on how Ghana played well in this game. So well done to them.”

This newfound confidence is vital as Ghana has faced a mixed performance record recently. They previously suffered a 1-0 defeat against South Korea in their final friendly prior to the World Cup draw, raising concerns regarding their effectiveness in scoring.

Germany, on the other hand, had earlier demonstrated their attacking prowess by trouncing Slovakia 6-0 to confirm their 19th consecutive World Cup qualification. Many anticipated a similar outcome against Ghana, but the match revealed deeper insights beyond the final score. Although Germany won, Ghana may have gained valuable confidence heading into future competitions.
