Blogger Musa Khawula has intensified his disagreement with Julius Malema by refusing to retract his statements regarding the politician’s marriage.
Khawula recently tweeted directly to Malema, insisting that he would not apologize and maintained his claims that there are issues within Malema’s marriage.
He stated that his sources close to Malema have corroborated information about the alleged split and potential divorce.
This tweet followed a formal demand letter sent to Khawula from lawyers acting for Malema and his spouse, Mantwa Matlala.
The correspondence, dated February 26, from England Slabbert Attorneys Inc., accuses Khawula of making derogatory remarks concerning the couple’s relationship.
According to the lawyers, Khawula has made a number of unverified suggestions about infidelity and marital problems, posing them as truth.
The couple contends these claims have harmed their reputation and exposed them to public mockery.
Their legal representatives have indicated a willingness to pursue civil action for damages amounting to R1 million and are also considering criminal charges for crimen injuria.
They assert that Malema’s marriage is intact, with no ongoing legal proceedings concerning separation or divorce.
In spite of these mounting legal challenges, Khawula seems resolute, using his most recent tweet to reiterate his position and indicate there would be no retraction.
hi @Julius_S_Malema baby, thought you should know that you aren’t getting no apology from me, do not expect it, it’s never happening,
your close friends have repetitively confirmed that your lil marriage is over, you are getting a divorce and i stand by that.
stop playing…
