Ngizwe Mchunu, a former broadcaster, is under scrutiny following serious allegations made by acclaimed Maskandi artist Khuzani Mlungose. Mlungose asserts that Mchunu violently assaulted the mother of his child on 22 June 2026, resulting in her hospitalization.
As per Khuzani, the victim reportedly reached out to a yet-to-be-identified public figure after getting no swift response from law enforcement.
In the aftermath of this incident, Mchunu is alleged to have embarked on a campaign of defamation and threats aimed at the person who intervened to support the victim.
The victim was admitted to the hospital following what has been described as a brutal confrontation. After encountering difficulties in filing a criminal complaint through conventional means, she took to social media on the night of the incident to solicit help.
The individual who came to her aid shared that the victim had supplied concrete evidence, including a video illustrating her injuries and the extent of the harm inflicted during the event.
Tensions heightened when Mchunu learned that the victim had disclosed the supposed abuse. Rather than addressing the accusations, Mchunu allegedly blamed the mediator for inciting his arrest and meddling in his private matters.
The statement claims that Mchunu has engaged in public smear campaigns and has made threatening remarks directed at the whistleblower’s family, reportedly stating that “there will be mourning” at their residence.
The whistleblower has categorically rejected any claims of initiating contact with the victim, emphasizing that the mother of Mchunu’s child reached out to him out of sheer desperation.
“I did not even have her phone number,” the statement notes. “Stop falsely accusing me… The video was sent by the mother of your child herself, showing me the damage. I do not speak about things that do not have evidence.”
The statement’s publisher concluded by stating that photographic and video evidence corroborating these assertions has been carefully preserved.
Mchunu has not yet provided an official response to these allegations.
