Nota reacts to DJ Maphorisa and Thuli P’s reunion
The well-known music executive Nota Baloyi has once again entered the fray with DJ Maphorisa following a viral video that featured the Amapiano artist and actress Thuli Phongolo at Louis Rosebank.
The video, which was posted on X by Amapiano blogger @PianoConnectSA, captured DJ Maphorisa and Thuli P enjoying a lighthearted moment, leading fans to celebrate what seemed to be a reconciliation.
Despite the lighthearted nature of the video, Nota took the opportunity to voice his dissent, given his ongoing dispute with Maphorisa.
In a response on Tuesday, Nota called into question Maphorisa’s choices and revisited their rocky relationship, highlighting their tumultuous breakup earlier this year and the subsequent legal issues.
He went further by offering Maphorisa a harsh nickname, likening him to a different prominent South African personality.
“Mfan’o ke bari. A girl presses charges on you, makes you spend a weekend in a holding cell, you appear in court and get bail as a GBV accused, beg her to drop the charges, then pick up the pieces thanks to @ChrisExcel102, only for him to go back to chasing that BBL? He’s a Skomota!” Nota remarked.
His remarks quickly stirred up considerable online debate.
Some social media users echoed his sentiments and shared memes that aligned with his perspective, while others accused Nota of being hypocritical, referencing his past, including his divorce from singer Berita Khumalo.
