On Monday, 19 May 2026, the experienced actress shared the news on her social media platforms, indicating she had received a formal notice from the public broadcaster regarding her payment for the show’s reruns.
Rami stated that the required documentation had been finalized and sent, and she is presently awaiting the payment process to be completed.
She wrote: “On this day, 19 May 2026 at 4pm, I, Rami Chuene, would like to state on record that I have received communication from the SABC telling me they will be paying me repeat fees for my work on Giyani: Land Of Blood.”
The actress emphasized her choice to make this announcement to inform other performers about their right to receive repeat fees for rebroadcasts of their work.
“Why am I telling you? So you know, my dear thespians, that this is what is truly due to us.”
Rami also expressed her gratitude towards the SABC and expressed her wish that other actors who have had their productions aired again are similarly compensated.
“I appreciate this from the SABC and hope that all actors that have their shows repeated on TV are also getting their repeat fees. Thank you SABC.”
