Podcaster and DJ Rea Gopane revisited his controversial exchange with media figure Bonang Matheba.
In a recent segment of the Nine8o Network podcast, Rea discussed the drama that unfolded in 2022, stemming from his claims involving Bonang and her late ex-boyfriend, AKA.
The allegations prompted legal proceedings, with Bonang reportedly pursuing a R500,000 lawsuit along with a request for a public apology.
Reflecting on the situation, Rea acknowledged he was at fault for his comments, yet asserted he does not regret the events that transpired.
“I have no regrets. If I were at the same place, same time, same age, I would do it again,” he stated.
He admitted his mistake, adding, “I was wrong; I shouldn’t have said that about anybody.”
In his view, “it was blown out of proportion… it was never going to get as far as it did if she didn’t put petrol onto the fire.”
Rea characterized his actions as motivated by a desire for attention, insisting that the fallout wasn’t as significant as perceived by the public.
“In public it looks like I went through some sht, but privately, nothing happened. There were no consequences,” he remarked.
He also addressed the lawsuit, claiming he never paid the R500,000, saying, “I still haven’t paid. The case was thrown out by the judge because I filed for unemployment.”
[NO CONSEQUENCES?]😳
