Siphesihle Ndlovu, a midfielder for Kaizer Chiefs, has appealed to Amakhosi fans to exercise patience and have confidence in the club’s rebuilding efforts as it embarks on a new era under a different coaching approach.
From Kaizer Chiefs’ pre-season training camp in Alicante, Spain, Ndlovu acknowledged that successful transitions require time, but he believes the team is making meaningful strides as players get accustomed to the new strategies ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Ndlovu feels that the groundwork being established during the European camp will be vital for Chiefs as they aim to perform well in domestic tournaments and the CAF Confederation Cup.
“It has been a wonderful camp. We are very happy to be here preparing for the new season. We are looking better and sharper every training session,” he commented.
“We have a new coach with a new philosophy and we are adapting well to his ideas.”
The introduction of a new coach has raised fresh hopes among Kaizer Chiefs supporters, who are eager to witness a return to the club’s previous glory after recent inconsistent performances. Ndlovu recognizes the weight of expectations from fans but believes that patience is needed for the team to effectively integrate the new playing style.
Kaizer Chiefs players embracing hard work in Spain
While the Alicante camp offers the players optimal conditions for training ahead of the new season, Ndlovu emphasized that the focus remains on improvement rather than leisure.
“We are all enthusiastic and very ambitious. This is a lovely environment, but we are not here on holiday. We are here to work, and we are putting in the effort every day,” he stated.
The 29-year-old midfielder also stressed the importance of having a comprehensive pre-season, noting that he joined Chiefs in the past without adequate preparation time.
Ndlovu sees this pre-season as a crucial chance to enhance his fitness, better understand his teammates, and position himself effectively within the team’s new framework.
“It’s always better as a professional to have a pre-season, especially when you join a new team. I’m privileged to have this pre-season with Chiefs to get into the right condition,” he remarked.
Friendly matches provide important lessons before new season
Chiefs have utilized their European tour to face various opponents, with Ndlovu participating in friendly matches against Rangers and Al Khalood.
The midfielder believes these games have provided the team with essential insights into areas that require advancement before the competitive season begins.
“These matches help us measure where we are. We faced different styles of play, similar to what we’ll encounter in the Betway Premiership and CAF Confederation Cup,” Ndlovu noted.
The Glamour Boys concluded their European tour with a 2-1 loss to Spanish team Elche on Saturday. Despite the outcome, these matches are part of the club’s broader preparations as the coaching staff works to mold the squad.
Kaizer Chiefs will now head back to South Africa before facing Zimbabwean side Scottland FC in the Toyota Cup on July 26.
Ndlovu delivers emotional message to Amakhosi supporters
With hopes once again high among the club’s dedicated supporters, Ndlovu encouraged fans to rally behind the team as the new project evolves.
He believes that the unity between players and supporters is crucial for Chiefs to realize their goals in the upcoming season.
“I ask our fans to be patient and trust the process because I believe we are building something special, and the supporters are a big part of it,” Ndlovu expressed.
For a club carrying the weight of millions of expectations, cultivating patience can be a challenge. Nevertheless, Ndlovu’s message suggests a shared conviction within the Chiefs camp that progress is being made, even though the forthcoming results will ultimately measure the success of this new phase.
