Man-Gale January 28, 2026 3 minutes read

As January unfolds, 2026 is turning into a significant year for Teyana Taylor. The actress has received six nominations for the upcoming NAACP Awards, along with her first Oscar nomination.

A week prior, the “All’s Fair” actress was enjoying the celebration of her first Golden Globe. She trended online as her fans worldwide joined in the festivities.

Taylor earned the Best Supporting Actress award in the Motion Picture category for her performance as Perfidia in “One Battle After Another”.

This week, while celebrating her NAACP nominations, the list of nominees for the 2026 Oscars was published, revealing that she is included.

Indeed, Taylor has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work in “One Battle After Another”.

This marks a vibrant start to the year for her career.

In comments made to various news organizations, Taylor shared her feelings regarding her Oscar nomination.

“To be an Academy Award nominee is beyond anything I ever allowed myself to fully believe was possible.

“I am so deeply emotional, so humbled, and so grateful for every person who has walked this road with me & honoured to be nominated alongside these amazing women in my category,” she stated.

Her acting career began in 2010 with “Stomp The Yard: Homecoming,” followed by a notable role in “Madea Big Happy Family” in 2011.

Furthermore, she is known for her performances in “A Thousand and One” and “Coming 2 America”.

In “One Battle After Another,” she portrays Perfidia Beverly Hills, and she took on various roles in films and series released in 2025.

In the Netflix series “Straw,” she played Kay Raymond, a detective who empathizes with a struggling single mother trying to care for her ill daughter.

Additionally, Taylor portrayed Milan, a dedicated law firm employee in an all-female environment.

She will also feature in the 2026 film “The Rip,” where she plays Detective Numa Baptiste, part of a narcotics unit team.

In addition to her nominations, Taylor is gracing the cover of “Vanity Fair” for the January issue.

Her presence in the fashion realm is also noteworthy, as she consistently delivers remarkable red carpet ensembles.

At 35, she has mastered the art of transforming even the most unusual outfits into fashionable statements that capture attention.

While her acting career is currently in the spotlight, it is important to remember her impressive talents as a singer.

In 2025, she gained her first Grammy nomination for Best RnB album with “Escape Room”.

Throughout her music career, Taylor has garnered accolades from various award shows, including the BET Awards, MTV VMAs, and Soul Train Awards.

Despite her success in acting and music, Taylor also works as a choreographer, assisting numerous artists with dynamic routines for their performances.

She has ventured into reality television, showcasing her life in the series “We Got Love: Teyana and Iman,” which offered fans a glimpse into her roles as a mother, wife, and performer.
