Controversial media figure and performer Zodwa Wabantu is currently embroiled in legal issues after purportedly skipping two eagerly awaited events in KwaZulu-Natal on September 26, even though she received her full appearance fees.
The artist was contracted by Igezaa Production Company, a notable media firm based in Durban, led by producer, director, and entrepreneur Scelo Sibiya.
This company, renowned for its expertise in event management, podcasting, and music video production, arranged for Zodwa to make two distinct appearances: one in Nongoma and the other at the Oasis Club in Durban.
As reported by the event organizers, Zodwa went missing on the day of the events, resulting in shock and disappointment among the hundreds of eager fans in attendance.
In an impassioned statement, Sibiya expressed his outrage, denouncing Zodwa’s actions as fraudulent behavior that undermines the credibility of the South African media and entertainment sectors.
“I am deeply shocked by this behavior. Zodwa is killing careers by repeatedly failing to appear at events, and there are already many similar rumors trending about her around Durban.”
Sibiya has confirmed that legal actions are in progress. He mentioned that Zodwa will be summoned to court shortly, and that certain financial invoices are currently withheld due to a more extensive investigation into the situation.
The businessman emphasized that his main objective is to retrieve his funds. “All I want is my refund. That is all,” he stated.
Although Zodwa Wabantu has refuted the accusations of misconduct, she has reportedly not been able to present evidence to vindicate herself.
