Newcastle United is reportedly considering a bid for Liam Delap as manager Eddie Howe aims to enhance the club’s attacking options for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
Delap made a move to Chelsea last summer in a £30 million transfer from Ipswich Town after generating significant interest due to an outstanding breakthrough season in the Premier League. The young striker netted 12 league goals for Ipswich despite the team’s relegation, which led Chelsea to secure his signing.
However, the 23-year-old faced a challenging first season at Stamford Bridge, struggling to consistently display the talent that positioned him as one of England’s most promising young forwards.

Despite these difficulties, Chelsea maintains a belief in Delap’s considerable long-term potential and is unlikely to sell him at a low price.
Sources indicate that Newcastle, along with Everton, is keeping a close eye on Delap’s situation. Both clubs are exploring options to strengthen their attack, but Softfootball reports that Chelsea has set a minimum asking price of £40 million for the former Manchester City academy player.
As interest in Delap increases, Chelsea’s valuation reflects their confidence in his future prospects, even as talks about his possible transfers continue to develop.
