Softfootball has announced that Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have finalized an agreement for the acquisition of Karim Adeyemi, concluding a major transfer saga of the summer.
The clubs have settled on a transfer fee of €22 million, in addition to €7 million in performance-based incentives, which are tied to appearances and significant trophy achievements. The 24-year-old forward is poised to sign a five-year deal with the Blaugrana.
This deal marks a pivotal moment for Barcelona, which had expressed optimism about signing Adeyemi during the entire transfer period but were initially hesitant to meet Dortmund’s €40 million valuation.
Following discussions, the Bundesliga team agreed to reduce their asking price, enabling Barcelona to obtain the winger at a lower guaranteed cost while factoring in attainable bonuses within the contract.

Adeyemi played an instrumental role in this transfer. Sources suggest that he expressed a strong preference for Barcelona as his sole destination, turning down overtures from other interested teams while he awaited the club’s agreement with Dortmund.
With the club-to-club deal finalized and personal terms already agreed upon, Adeyemi is anticipated to finalize the remaining steps before being presented as Barcelona’s newest addition.
