South African social media personality and reality television figure Faith Nketsi has reportedly been released from custody following an incident involving local authorities during her vacation in Thailand.
The influencer, who has been showcasing her extravagant holiday with friends via social media, was said to have been stopped by officials connected to a vaping incident.
BuzzLife News states that Nketsi faced temporary detention after allegedly being found with a vape device while in the country.
Faith has been enjoying her time in Thailand with close friends, including Nadia Nakai and Andzelo Tivani, as they share experiences from yacht excursions, fine dining, and beach activities over the last several days.
Despite the seemingly enjoyable trip, reports indicate that the situation turned serious following her interaction with Thai law enforcement.
Thailand maintains strict anti-vaping regulations, having banned e-cigarettes and related products since 2014.
Under these laws, the importation, ownership, sale, and public use of vaping devices are forbidden, affecting both residents and tourists.
Individuals caught possessing vaping products risk having their items confiscated, facing fines, and even detention.
While Faith Nketsi has not commented on the matter directly, sources suggest that she has since been released and is no longer under police supervision.
