Tebogo G Mashego, a producer and social media figure, has ignited a conversation online after alleging that he narrowly avoided becoming a victim of human trafficking during an evening in Pretoria and Sandton. He disclosed this account during a live stream on his Instagram on August 1, 2026, detailing an experience that he described as deeply distressing.
G Mashego recounts that the ordeal began with a seemingly innocent interaction: a man contacted him, claiming to have iPhones for sale. They agreed to meet at Propaganda Nightclub in Pretoria, where the stranger introduced himself as a nightclub owner and encouraged G Mashego to visit his establishment.
Accompanied by several friends and a few women, totaling nine people, G Mashego and his group entered vehicles and made their way toward Sandton.
Suspicious cars and a missing nightclub
During their journey, G Mashego claims he began to feel uneasy. He noticed a separate vehicle following them, occupied by three unfamiliar white men. Upon reaching Sandton, instead of a nightclub, they stopped at a residential apartment complex, which he felt was alarming.
According to G Mashego, the men expressed their intent to take the girls in their group, even urging him to find more females, indicating a plan for trafficking. He stated firmly that he would not participate in any such actions. While live streaming, G Mashego asserted that he was not intimidated by the men.
“These people do human trafficking. I’m not afraid of any of you. I’m a drug dealer; you’re small boys to me.”
He also issued a stern warning to young women pursuing a lavish lifestyle.
“Stop acting like struggling baddies; these people are going to traffic you.”
